Men’s Therapy in Arvada, CO
THERAPY FOR MEN WHO WANT BETTER RELATIONSHIPS AND LESS STRESS
Seeking out help doesn’t always come naturally but it usually starts with something not feeling right. Maybe you’re:
overthinking but not saying much out loud
struggling in your relationship
feeling stressed, overwhelmed or shut down
wanting things to improve but unsure how
I provide therapy for men in Colorado who want clearer communication, stronger relationships and a better way of handling stress and emotions.
A different approach to men’s mental health
A lot of men hesitate to start counseling because they don’t want:
endless talk without direction
pressure to be someone they’re not
therapy that doesn’t feel practical
I offer therapy for men that focuses on real change, not just talking. If you want to feel better - clearer, calmer, more in control - men’s therapy can help you get there.
Nearly 1 in 10 men experiences daily depression and anxiety, yet less than half seek treatment.
What we work on in men’s therapy
Emotional awareness (without overcomplicating it) → Understand what you’re feeling and how it impacts your behaviors and relationships.
Putting feelings into words → Learning how to express yourself clearly and directly.
Staying present under pressure → Building the ability to stay engaged instead of shutting down or pulling away.
Understanding your partner’s or another’s perspective → Increasing empathy to improve understanding and connection.
Becoming grounded → Show up in life and relationships in a way that feels aligned and intentional.
My approach to men’s therapy
Men’s therapy offers a space to break free from the pressures and patterns of traditional masculinity and build a more connected, authentic life. My approach is guided by Relational Life Therapy (RLT), developed by Terry Real, which helps men move from isolation and defensiveness toward emotional connection and healthier relationships.
Many men struggle with what Real calls the “trauma of masculinity”, the ways society teaches men to disconnect from their emotions, hide vulnerability, and cope through anger, overwork, or other destructive behaviors. In therapy, we explore these patterns directly, addressing “hidden” depression and other feelings that often stay buried behind aggression, perfectionism, or withdrawal.
RLT is both compassionate and active. I take a direct, engaged approach, helping you recognize and confront behaviors that keep you stuck, whether that’s defensiveness, avoidance, or grandiosity. At the same time, we focus on skill-building: learning how to navigate conflict without escalating tension, express needs clearly without losing emotional control, and connect with partners, children, and friends in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
A central principle of RLT is moving from a “delusion of dominance” to a partnership of equals. When you develop healthier emotional habits and relational skills, your life improves on multiple levels: your relationships, your stress, and your overall sense of fulfillment all benefit.
Therapy is experiential, meaning you’ll practice vulnerability, accountability, and emotional honesty in the session itself. The goal is not just understanding, but real transformation - helping you live with more clarity, confidence, and connection.
